Floating Jetties as boat jetty and bath jetty |
Floating jetties
A floating jetty refers to a jetty floating on the water, which consists of
one or more floats or pontoons. Floating jetties are mostly used in stagnant water
(sea, lake, pond) and can be used regardless of the water level.
Usually, the floating jetty is used to take off and put on boats
(boating jetty) or the entry and exit for bathers (bathing jetty).
Floating jetties are sometimes used for a variety of other purposes,
such as floating dock or floating bridge, etc.
Examples of a boat
jetty and bath jetty
Boating jetties A boat jetty is an artificial jetty that projects from the shore into the water or to a platform where one or more boats can dock and moor. Boat jetties are built over the water, unlike a wharf, which is located on the land. Boating jetties are sometimes referred to as boat docks or boat berths. Bathing jetties A bath jetty is an artificial jetty that projects from the shore into the water or to a platform from which the bather can get in or out of the water. Bath jetties are built over the water, in contrast to stairs, which are located on the shore. Bathing jetties are sometimes referred to as swim jetties or swim walkways.
